Making a Difference
Thank you for your interest in helping our injured, ill and orphaned native wildlife! Without such compassionate, caring people, we could not continue our efforts on behalf of all animals.
Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The Wildlife Center of Texas does not have a minimum weekly hour requirement. However, each volunteer must commit to at least six hours during a six month period. In addition, volunteers must also have consistent access to the internet and email to schedule their volunteer shifts and receive important volunteer updates.

Is there availability for one-time volunteering? Unfortunately, because of the amount of training required to work with our animals we do not offer one-time training opportunities for individuals.
Can my 15-year-old volunteer at the Wildlife Center if I’m with him/her? We do not offer any volunteer opportunities for those under the age of 16.

Can I be a volunteer if I have a criminal record? We do not accept applicants with a history of sexual offense, violent crime, theft or animal neglect/cruelty. We require all volunteer applicants to state any past criminal record and reserve the right to conduct a background check on any volunteer.
